I’d consider myself a realist, alright? But in philosophical terms I’m what’s called a pessimist. I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, that accretion of sensory experience and feelings, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everbody’s nobody. I think the honorable thing for our species to do is to deny our programming. Stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction. One last midnight, brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is out with a new map pack called Operation Phoenix. Operation Phoenix brings back eight fan voted maps, a Operation Phoenix case(containing any of 13 new weapon finishes) and a Challenge Coin(doubles as a competitive scorecard).
The eight maps that are returning include Cache, Downtown, Motel, Seaside, Thunder, Ali, Favela and Agency. These eight maps are playable in casual, competitive and death-match.
Operation Phoenix is priced at $2.99(maybe even cheaper on steam market) and is scheduled to run through June 4. A portion of the proceeds from Operation Phoenix go back to the map’s creators.
Every kitten grows up to be a cat. They seem so harmless, at first, small, quiet, lapping up their saucer of milk. But once their claws get long enough, they draw blood. Sometimes from the hand that feeds them. For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy. There is but one rule: Hunt or be hunted.
Gulp is like Grunt.
It’s a task runner.
To install Gulp on Windows:
1) npm install gulp -g (this installs Gulp globally).
2) npm install –save-dev gulp (this installs Gulp locally to the folder).
3) Choose and install your plugins.
4) Create a gulpfile.js at the root of your folder.
5) Open gulpfile.js and add the following:
var gulp = require(‘gulp’);
6) For every plugin you install, add a name and the install name.
E.g. var name = require(‘install-name’)
7) gulp (this will run gulp).
Awesome Screenshot Plus add-on for Firefox also installs adware, which they claim to give you an option to refuse. Having used this extension for a while, I can’t remember being given that option. An annoying popup called “Related products” got shown every time I visited any page with any sort of buyable products on it.
Use at your own risk. Better still, use another extension.
So you installed Yeoman on Windows.
Now for the best part, installing generators.
Choose what generator you want from Yeoman Generators.
Then type “npm install -g nameofgenerator”, replacing nameofgenerator with the generator you want to install.
Remember that generators must star with the Generator keyword.
